Meet the Founders
Equity International School was established by Afasi Komla and Lydia Ohenewah, driven by a shared vision of providing exceptional education.
Their passion for nurturing young minds has created a school that prioritizes academic excellence, character building, and holistic growth. Through their leadership, Equity continues to inspire and empower future generations
Afasi Komla is the Director of End Modern Slavery at Engage Now Africa (ENA), an international non-governmental organization operating in Ghana, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, Uganda, and Namibia. He leads initiatives to combat modern-day slavery and human trafficking through prevention, rescue, rehabilitation, and prosecution programs.
He also serves as the Regional Representative for Africa for the Commonwealth 8.7 Network, coordinating regional activities and advocacy efforts. Additionally, he is the Chief Coordinating Officer of the African Survivors Network, a coalition dedicated to educating, advocating for rights, and empowering partners to end human trafficking across Africa.
Afasi holds a Master’s in Management Development and a degree in Operations and Project Management from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). His dedication to ENA’s mission of healing, rescuing, and empowering vulnerable communities has earned him recognition as a leader in the fight against human trafficking. Recently, he was appointed to the National Planning Committee for the World Day Against Human Trafficking.
Lydia Ohenewa Sarah is a passionate advocate for human trafficking prevention and the rights of women and children. As the
Manager of End Modern Slavery, an initiative of
Engage Now Africa,
she works to create lasting change in the fight against exploitation.
She holds a BSc in Biomedical Engineering and certifications in Early Childhood Education and Women Empowerment.
Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s in Monitoring and Evaluation at GIMPA to enhance her expertise in program assessment and impact measurement.
Beyond her professional role, she is actively involved in politics as the
Constituency Women’s Organizer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC)
and leads the Free Sanitary Pad Project, empowering young girls and women in Suhum.
She also serves as the
Co-Founder of Equity International School,
where she is committed to providing quality education and shaping future leaders.
